Oakland Cemetery’s Halloween Tours

oaklandThis event requires you to buy tickets in advance and I’ll have to warn you that it may be sold out.  But since we’re big supporters of Oakland Cemetery we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about this wonderful event.  I’ll let Oakland Cemetery describe it for you.

Atlanta’s Historic Oakland Cemetery welcomes back the sell-out Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Halloween Tours for six nights only this October 17, 18, 19, 23, 24 and 25, with ticket sales open to members of Oakland’s Historic Foundation available on July 1 via TicketAlternative.com. Tickets will be available to the general public beginning July 15.

Your only chance to experience Oakland after dark, walk amidst the Cemetery’s beautifully lit gardens, escorted by a costumed docent. Witness the magnificent final resting place of Atlanta’s sons and daughters as they tell their stories during the Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Halloween Tours.

Engage all of your senses and step back in time as you play audience to first-hand re-enactments, narrated by a host of Oakland’s eternal “residents,” which bring to life the city’s past. Be inspired by the cemetery’s nighttime views during this one-of-a-kind annual tradition.

Bring a flashlight and wear comfortable walking shoes. There will be beer, wine, and soft drinks for sale. Browse Oakland’s Museum Shop for memory-worthy souvenirs.
